Reflective Teaching Challenge Day Eleven: Best Part of the Day

DAY Eleven

What is your favorite part of the school day and why?

There is absolutely  no question in my mind that the best part of any school day is when I am working with my students.  I don’t care if I have a group of rambunctious, fresh-from-gym-class-that-doesn’t-have-a-showering-facility group of freshmen or the most advanced of A.P. students; the whole reason whyI give up my evenings and weekends for planning and grading and researching and revising and creating and tweaking and going to extracurricular events is because of my students.  I became a teacher to help young people develop and grow their appreciation for literature and the learning process.

If I had to choose a runner up moment that didn’t include students, I would say that my favorite part of the school day is the moment that I have finalized class prep and can eagerly sit and wait for my students to come into class.

Ha ha ha ha! Kids pull a prank on Mrs. Ferrari. I believe my favorite part of this is picturing the prank in action and these two young men refused to move from their homework position while it was being done.
