5 New Things to Try Next Year


As we’re wrapping up the school year and reflecting on what worked and what needs tweaking, I’ve been thinking about adding a few tools to the repertoire. Although I am trying (most likely in vain) to simplify my lessons whenever possible, there are a few things that I think deserve a look.

  1. Socrative. I know. I should have been using Socrative already, but I haven’t been. I suppose I felt like NearPod did most of what Socrative does and then some. Perhaps I was being stubborn and just trying to stick to my website too rigidly. But I’m definitely going to explore Socrative a bit this summer, and think about using it to replace my Bell Ringers. I’ve really been trying to find one approach to assessments next year instead of the haphazard combination of Google Forms and Watu Pro that I currently use, but Socrative is so widely…
