I’m in a super duper mood because I know that this is my last Monday morning before going on our Holiday break. It’s also the first day of our school’s staff’s Secret Santa activity! I absolutely love the teacher whose name I drew; she’s a lovely person, a great art teacher, and we’re working on becoming OSFs – Outside of School Friends.
Because she’s an art teacher and our budget for each gift is pretty small, I decided to buy her some things that she could use in the classroom, but not just the normal.
In other Holiday Spirit news, one of my favorite bloggers with the most adorable little girl posed a Christmas Awesome Stuff Survey and I jumped on it!
1. Favorite Christmas Album/CD/Song?
I have a playlist on my iPhone called Holiday Memories, and in addition to an assortment of other songs, there are two Christmas Albums from my childhood on it:
2. Run on Christmas morning or take the day off?
I will be running because I’ve already done enough damage to my 2012 Holiday Running streak. However, the last time I ran in cold weather was back on St. Paul Island:
3. What do you usually eat on Christmas morning?
Christmas morning this year will be a little different. Usually, we have an afternoon holiday party at my uncle Frank’s house, but as the cousins have gotten older, we needed to adjust or schedules a bit. So this year we are going to have brunch. I’m sure that the spread will be quite plentiful!
4. Favorite holiday or Christmas tradition?
Growing up, our tradition was to attend Christmas Eve mass, and while we were at church, Santa would come and deliver gifts to our house. Even as an adult, the tradition continued and I never knew who Santa’s helper was. It turns out that one of my absolute favorite people, my Uncle Bill, was assisting Santa for all those years.
5. Real tree, fake tree or no tree?
I have never had a real tree, or known anyone whose house we celebrate in that has had a real tree. Some say you need to have a live one to have a real Christmas, but I like our tree just fine =)
6. Christmas pajamas… yay or nay?
I don’t have a specific pair of jammies, but I know that this year I’ll probably be in all sweat pants and hoodies because my body has definitely adjusted to the warmer, Florida weather.
7. Where do you spend the holidays? Your own house, your parents’ house, extended family, in-laws, friends?
Since getting married, Dan and I have never had a holiday in our own home because we have always travelled to Michigan. We usually stay with my parents, but spend a great deal of time visiting my in-laws and friends.
8. Food that you always have during the holiday season? Favorite Christmas food/treat?
I don’t know that there is one holiday food or treat that we have only at Christmas, but you know that I cannot wait to get home and have some of my mom’s delicious home cooking!
9. Open presents all at once or take turns? Stockings… yes or no?
We always open gifts one at a time so that we can enjoy the moments for as long as possible.
10. Favorite Christmas(ish) movie?
