I am very pleased to tell you that my productivity level has not slumped whatsoever despite the heat index rising. I think my motivation level has maintained its consistency because
I’m super anal I have setup my calendar with regular, significant events. Hence the August 5k Stadium Challenge, October Marine Corp Half Marathon, and November St. Augustine Half Marathon, and 5k Color Run in December.
I’ve kept Dear Hubby busy as well, and yesterday was proof of that. We left the house around 10am and didn’t return until well past 4pm. What all did we do? Oh it was a lovely day filled with a trip to both Walmart and Target, visiting our new school and picking up our textbooks, and scouting out some potential neighborhoods we would consider purchasing a home in. As soon as I got done typing that sentence, this scene came to mind:
God help me; I’m turning my poor husband into that man.
Anyways, in other productive news, my workout this morning at Snap Fitness could be labeled, “One step forward, One slower step back.” I attempted to complete Michelle’s HIIT routine, but it didn’t go quite so well.
Better to slow it down and smooth it out rather than to quit all together.
Afterwards, I knocked out a round of “300 Abs” with one major accomplishment! When the routine calls for leg lifts and reverse crunches, I replace them with the Chair of Death:
The first set calls for 20 of each leg lifts and reverse crunches. In their place I will lift my legs up to a 90 degree angle with my torso, and for the reverse crunches, I pull up my knees to my chest (or as close to it as I can). Last week I would barely be able to do 10 of their exercise in a row. Today, I did all 20 of both ALL TOGETHER!!!!! You have not seen anyone strut so gloriously in all your life.
After I changed out of my tank and Daisy Dukes and put my running shoes back on, I went back to the Jungle Gym. I learned that the machine is actually called a Cable Crossover. I guess?? Anyways, I decided to try out a few new moves because yesterday’s workout went so well.
So I headed over to the “Cable Crossover” area and decided to try these exercises:
I only hit myself in the head about 8 times when doing the middle exercise.
I followed it up with:
- 3 X 10 of Assisted Pull Ups
- 3 X 15 Push Ups
- 3 X 10 Flies (15 lbs.)
- 3 X 10 Renegades (15 lbs.)
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to go productively sit by the pool.
