Moving Highlights

Welcome to the weekend, Fancy Oatmeal readers!

It’s been a busy week around these parts as Dear Hubby and I will be moving to Florida is exactly two weeks!  I know, right?!?! Where the BLEEP BLOOP! did the time go?  It’s probably in this pile of junk:

and it just keeps growing!

But please don’t worry – you know me and my tedious and orderly lifestyle; this mess did not have much of a lifeline.  The method to my packing madness was to organize the piles of stuff we’ll throw away once we get to Florida treasures in common groups, then create a list which sleeps under my pillow at night for safe keeping.  Each box has been labeled with a letter of the alphabet, just so we don’t wait until 2:34am to find the box of pillows and toothbrushes.

So far we are up to letter “S” and still going.  We’ve moved the Pile It Up party out into the garage, where all proper celebrations should happen.

Between celebrating the end of the heat wave, both here and Miami (the students up on the island will be insufferable now that Lebron has a ring) and lugging Cuisinart filled containers up and down the stairs, I’ve also managed to fit in a few good workouts. Friday I ran 6.5 miles

followed by an upper body circuit with Jackie Warner.

I’m purposefully trying to run miles at an easier pace because I’ve been feeling a lot of tightness in my hips and thighs lately.  I’ve been doing a fair amount of stretching, but I absentmindedly left my foam roller in Alaska, and apparently they don’t make them in Michigan; that or I’m too lazy/distracted to go out and purchase another.

After cleaning myself up, I had a hair appointment.  I’ve grown too accustomed to mousy brown hair and figured it was time for a change.

The Before:

The After:

A lil shorter, a little beachier for my future costal domicile.  I really like it, and am relieved because I had to go to a hairstylist I’ve never gone to before.  When you’re living with your parents who haven’t lost their sense of hearing yet you have to get your jollies wherever you can find em!
