Back to Back to Back Success

Now, I don’t want to try and start any batty, bonkers training craze, but I have “PR”ed my last two three-mile runs just days after recovering from the full-body flu.  Yesterday’s run was completed in 23:09, and today’s was a whole 33 seconds faster WITH an increased incline of 2% compared to Sunday’s 1%.

My splits are freakin’ unbelievable compared to my norms that typically range between 7’45” and 8’30”

I’m not going to lie, I am quite impressed with my splits, especially the 7’13” time for my second mile.  Never in my life did I think that I would be able to pull something like that off.  I’m going to use the spark to motivate me for tomorrow’s first AM run in over 10 days.

SWITCHING GEARS: Allow me to get a little girlie on you.  Anyone who knows me in real life knows that I’m far from a girlie girl.  I’m far from a Tommy Boy, but I rarely doll myself up.  Up until two weeks ago, I usually have used a generic, black headband to keep the hair out of my eyes while I workout.  I finally bit the bullet and purchased a Chica Band.  FELL.IN.LOVE.  Like worse than Romeo and Juliet, you guys!  The fortunate thing is that neither of us are going to shamelessly take our lives in order to be together, although the extra $ Alaska shipping costs wasn’t exactly a love poem.  But I digress…I loved my first Chica Band so much, I purchased five more!  I have some pretty specific and special uses for these babies!

The main reason why I love my Chica Bands, and chose to purchase a total of six, is because the adorable little buggers stay in place!  I put a band on, and it doesn’t roll off the back of my head, nor does it cut off the circulation to my hair follicles.

So even though I may be late to the Chica Band party, I definitely will be here until last call.

Speaking of success, congrats to the Michigan State Spartans AND my Cincinnati Bearcats for making it to the Sweet Sixteen.  Strong leadership and is necessary to create success on the court.  Head Coach Tom Izzo and Team Captain Draymond Green know what that’s all about.  Quality begets quality.
