Five Things Friday

Friday Workout: 3 miles @ 21’21 – EXCUSE ME!

Avg. Pace = 7’06” SAY WHAT!

Happy Friday Everyone!  We’ve been working for the weekend, so let’s not put off the fun any longer!  To the list!

1. The Walking Dead starts up again on Sunday!

Yipes – I definitely watch this show AFTER I eat …

2. Survivor Season 24 debuts on Wednesdays!

3. Not everyone is glued to the TV – My students read!

Many of my students who are notorious for being a non-readers, so this semester I have made it my goal to ruin their social lives get the kids to read more.  Part of this effort has been to beef up my classroom’s library with books that I would consider to be high interest for snarky teenagers.  I wouldn’t necessarily call them high-brow literature, but Reading for Pleasure’s Sake Literature.  Anyways, right now this particular student who doesn’t care for reading told our Math teacher that she can’t put her book down; it just happens to be The Uglies by Scott Westerfeld.  I have added it to my Kindle, as you can see below.

4. iTunes Music Purchases

I am a huge fan of Glee, and love their music selections lately!  The past two weeks have featured the amazing catalog of Michael Jackson and then a Latin flava – I don’t know which week I loved more.

Even though I am a fan of Michael Jackson’s and I purchased more covers of his songs, I couldn’t help but put a pic of Ricky Martin in my blog instead.

5. Books I’ve Added to my Kindle

The books I purchased are:

The Uglies by Scott Westerfeld

The Realm of Possibilities by David Levithan

The Burn Journals by Brent Runyon

We All Fall Down by Nic Sheff

Fresh Powder by Susanne O’Leary

Claudette Colvin by Phillip Hoose

Question of the Day: Anything random that you would like to share that’s on your mind?
