Happy Monday, Fancy Oatmeal Readers!
Are you as water-logged with pride while watching the Olympics as I am??? I’ve been pretty hit-or-miss with the coverage, but I do really like reading all the blogs that catch me up on the athletes key aspects of the Olympics; make me feel like a true American.
I’ll even go so far as to throw my hat in the ring for the motherland, my family’s lineage: Germany.
Whatever you need, Mr. Behrenbruch, just let me know. Seriously.
Aaaaaaanyways, back here in Realityville, I had a great run this morning that allowed me to shake off the cobwebs and just enjoy. It was a bit slower paced, 8’30″, but boy did it feel good. It also helped me to cross the finishing line for my July mileage goal of 130.
On Sunday, I couldn’t quite get my legs to align with what my brain had in mind for the day.
To offset this, I applied a Jedi mind trick by breaking up my workout:
- 2.5 miles on the treadmill
- 20 minutes on the Arc Trainer
- 2.5 miles on the treadmill
I was able to get in my desired 5 miles without feeling like slamming my face into the treadmill’s display.
Even though I had completed my workout, I still was feeling a big “meh,” so I suggested to Dear Hubby that we try out our Netflix option on our Blu-Ray player.
We picked out Breaking Bad since neither of us had seen it. Instant Streaming. Instant Success! The show is totally nuts and I love it! I’m with Paula (check out her laminated list) on this one: Jessie Pinkman/Aaron Paul is just a cherry on the sundae of this show. Had this show been around when I was in high school, I might have opted in for Chemistry.
